E.L.F Make-up Haul! (Review + Swatches)

By coutureandthecity · April 26, 2013

I went a little E.L.F happy when they posted their 50% off code a while back, so thought I'd do a review on some of the products I got since I've had time to use them all and make my mind up about what I think of them! Here goes nothing!

Baked Bronzer|Colour: Maui

What I think: I love the glowy finish, its very pigmented. However I think the colour comes up a little orange and would repurchase it in a darker shade.

Rate: 8/10

Baked Blusher
|Colour: Peachy Cheeky

What I think: I absolutely LOVE the colour, the finish, the pigmentation... pretty much everything about this blusher. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. I love the colour on my skin tone, and these pics don't do the colour justice. I would recommend you buy this if your looking for a cheap blusher to use for the summer. It would look beautiful on tanned/olive skin.

Rate: 9/10

Single Eyeshadow|Colour: Raspberry Truffle

What I think: I use this colour underneath my lash line, It's a really nice shimmery plum/bronze colour and would be really nice for a smokey eye. The pigmentation is good, but I suggest using a primer to intensify the colour. It's very blend-able and I think the packaging is really cute!

Rate: 8/10

Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder|Colour: Antigua

What I think: The bronzer in this kit is really really pigmented, a little too pigmented. The colour is too dark on me but I still like using it because it makes me look so tanned. This is perfect for contouring, the only thing is it's a little orange. The blush colour I didn't even bother trying for weeks because I thought it looked horrible in the pan. However, I decided to try it and I'm really shocked that I do like it. It's not amazing but this kit is really good if you don't want to carry too much with you.

Rate: 6.5/10

Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick| Colours from left to right: Forest Nymph, French Lace, Like a Boss

What I think: I'm in two minds about these eyeshadow sticks. I loved them at first, especially "Forest Nymph" and "Like a Boss", they're extremely pigmented, and I love layering them with powder eyeshadow so it stays on longer. However, when you use them on their own, give it a few hours and its all over the place. The colours smudge really easily especially using them on the lash line like I do. On the lids they're fine, so it depends on how you use them.

Rate: 7.5/10

Lipstick|Colours from left to right: Gypsy, Classy

What I think: These lipsticks are only £1.50 so they're good for the price. The only thing is, the colours are nothing like the colours on the Internet. I do love the colours though and they are pigmented. I love the colour Classy more, It's a vintage pink colour and would suit most skin tones.

Rate: 7/10

Flawless Finish Foundation|Colour: Sand

What I think: The first thing I noticed is the thickness, its perfect if you want really full coverage. I've found myself mixing it with my moisturiser because It's too thick for me. It blends really well, and I like the fact its Oil free and has an spf in it. I think it would be too thick for day time, but perfect for evening.

Rate: 8/10

Matte Lip Colour|Colours from left to right: Tea Rose, Natural, Nearly Nude, Coral

What I think: These are by far my favourite items that I ordered. All the colours are perfect (even though they all look the same) They're gorgeous nude colours and it's difficult to find good quality nude colours for a cheap price. I would 100% recommend these, I use them everyday and will continue to use them until I have to buy them again.

Rate: 9.5/10

I thought I'd put an outfit together since I've not done one in a while! I saw the printed pants from George for £16 and I love them! So I thought I'd out together an outfit based around the pants. The list of iterms are below, click them to direct you to the website.

Blanc Noir (OOTD)

By coutureandthecity · April 12, 2013
I originally wore this outfit with my favourite Red maxi Pleated skirt (which looked much better than this outfit but forgot to take a full length pic) However it was raining outside, because of the good old British weather so I had to change into my printed pants which I think worked really well and made the outfit more casual looking. Me and the girls went for a Hen-Do meal! We had such a lovely time and it was really nice to see everyone after ages because we've all been so busy! P.S this is such a late blogpost. I wore this a while back and for those who follow me on Instagram you would have seen this pic!

The T-shirt (which also has chains on the neck) says Blanc Noir and is from River Island. I love this top and can pretty much wear it with anything! It also reminds me of the Celine Print Tshirt that I've spotted on a few people! My Pants and Leather jacket are also from River Island (I need to get out of that store!)

Another ootd, I love this top, it goes with so many things and I love the fact that its baggy and can be worn with a belt so it's more fitted. I made the belt myself, which I'm proud of consdiering I don't know how to sew or make anything!

This post is so late, I took these pictures a while back to show you my favourite shoes I got in the Sales (Yes! The boxing Day Sales!) and I completely forgot to put them up. So even though you can't really buy these anymore (apart from the overly priced ones on eBay) I thought theres no harm in looking at some pretty shoes. These are by far the nicest shoes I own. I absolutely love them! The fit and style of the shoes are so princessy with a gothic twist. I'm so lame aren't I ;)
